I coach academic women and non-binary people beat burnout and regain their balance as they pursue what they are passionate about.
Whether you are a lecturer, researcher, professional services staff (or all of the above) working in Higher Education, you really care about what you do. You are also experiencing stress, exhaustion and overwhelm. I have been there. It is easy to simply put all our energy into our work, while neglecting other important areas of our life, risking working ourselves into the ground.
Do you find you do not have enough hours in the day to create the impact you desire? Do you often skip meals, or eat "on the go"? Do you have trouble relaxing or falling asleep at night? Is exercise a chore you often postpone? Have you experienced stress or burn-out symptoms in the past and are worried it could happen again?
With my mindfulness-based stress reduction approach, we start by bringing more awareness to your habits and routines, in order to address imbalances around 4 quadrants: mindful eating; mindful movement; sleep and relaxation; cultivating joy. You will walk away with your personalised well-being toolbox, taking small consistent actions to keep you balanced, so you can work more efficiently and enjoy other areas of your life.
We then dive deeper into the root causes of burnout to address imbalances in your work environment - such as lack of autonomy, excessive workload and work pressure, lack of leadership or peer support, lack of recognition or issues of unfairness or values disconnect.
My clients find that their increased awareness has helped them gain clarity and maintain their sense of purpose. They find it now easier to build in enough time to look after themselves and pursue their passion from a place true of balance.
I have a calm and serene manner, and with my thoughtful questioning style I will support you beat burnout and maintain your sense of balance.
Prior to becoming a mindful well-being coach I enjoyed a career working within the UK Higher Education sector, with diverse roles in research and development, project management, and teaching. I now support others in this sector while pursuing my other interests, as:
